Junichi Sasao is From Hiratsuka, Kanagawa, Japan.

He graduated from the Nihon Fukushi University, Faculty of Social Welfare. He went on to study saxophone at SHOBI College of Music, in the Department of Wind, Strings, and Percussion as a wind instrument major, finishing his advanced diploma studies there.

He was a successful competitor in the 11th Annual Burhardt International Music Competition, Chamber Music section. He decided to pursue a career in music after working for four years at a facility for the intellectually disabled.

He performed regularly with ensembles during his term at music college, and currently focuses mainly on solo projects, chamber music, and other event performances. Actively involved in junior and senior high school training and private tutoring, Junichi also continues to contribute to the health sector by doing charity concerts.

Well-known for his arranging skills, Junichi prepares arrangements for various instrumentations and world-renown ensembles, including the well-known D-SAX. 

He has taken part in many artists' live shows as part of the chorus and has enjoyed the publicity of various media including  and radio, live shows, and recordings. Junichi is an active member of both D-SAX and Ensemble Allegro. Junichi studied saxophone under Yasushi Arai, and chamber music under Kinchi Nakamura and Yoshiyuki and Mariko Hattori. He studied conducting under Akira Toda and Shinpei Shiotani.
