American saxophonist Todd Goranson is Associate Professor of Music (Saxophone/Bassoon/Jazz) at Messiah College in Pennsylvania (USA). He has appeared in concert with artists including Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis, The Temptations w/Dennis Edwards, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and performed extensively with the Billy Price Band. His orchestral saxophone engagements include performances with the Utah Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, Philadelphia Wind Symphony, and Plano Symphony, with bassoon credits including over a dozen professional orchestras in the US and Mexico.
A founding member of Triforia Winds, Trio Atlantis and the Junction Saxophone Quartet, he has given numerous recitals and/or clinics throughout the United States, and in Puerto Rico, Canada, UK, Sweden, and Asia. He performs/presents regularly for international events such as the World Saxophone Congress, North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conferences, and the U.S. Navy Band Symposiums, and is on the MasterWorks Festival faculty. Goranson’s most recent performances have included concerts and recitals in Sweden, Malaysia and China. He has recorded as a saxophone concerto soloist on the Klavier Records label.
Dr. Goranson holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from West Virginia University, and Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Idaho. His saxophone teachers have included Robert Miller, Curtis Johnson, Barry Bergstrom and Andy Wen. He is a Vandoren Paris Regional Artist, an artist/endorser for Hercules Stands, and endorses and performs exclusively on Yanagisawa saxophones.
